TULCAS 2026

Invitation Letter

Languages, cultures, and civilizations are the most valuable heritages that shape the collective memory of humanity. Researching, preserving, and passing this heritage on to future generations through scientific methods is one of the most important responsibilities of academia.

With this understanding, we are deeply honored to invite you to the International Congress on Turkish Language, Culture, and Art (TULCAS 2026), which will be organized under the auspices of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, in cooperation with the Turkish Maarif Foundation, Yunus Emre Institute, Turkish Language Association (TDK), and Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

Date October 28–30, 2026 Venue Budapest Congress TULCAS 2026

Scheduled to be held between October 28–30, 2026, in Budapest—a city that holds a special place in the historical development of European Turkology—TULCAS 2026 aims to bring together academicians, researchers, and young scientists working in the fields of Turkish language, culture, and art under a common scientific vision.

Today, Turkology is not merely composed of language, literature, and history studies. It has evolved into a broad research area ranging from the preservation of cultural heritage to digital humanities, and from AI-supported language research to cross-cultural interaction studies. TULCAS 2026 aims to unite different perspectives on the same academic platform by adopting this multidisciplinary approach.

At our congress, original scientific studies will be shared across a wide spectrum, primarily focusing on the Turkish language, Turkish literature, Turkish history, the Turkic world, cultural heritage, Turkish art, teaching Turkish as a foreign language, contemporary Turkology research, and interdisciplinary studies. Furthermore, through invited speeches, panels, and special sessions, leading researchers in the field will come together, laying the foundations for new research networks and international collaborations.

Budapest holds a special significance not only as a host city but also due to its scientific accumulation in the history of Turkology. As one of the prominent centers for research on Turkish language and culture in Europe, this city stands as a powerful academic symbol uniting the past and the future.

In addition to the scientific program, this congress will offer participants the opportunity to experience the richness of Turkish culture in an international setting through organized cultural and artistic events, thereby contributing to the integration of academic communication with cultural interaction.

We believe that TULCAS 2026 will not merely be a congress where papers are presented; it will serve as an enduring scientific meeting point where new ideas in Turkology are born, international academic partnerships are developed, and future research is guided.

We would be delighted to have you as a part of this shared vision. We sincerely believe that together we will make TULCAS 2026 stronger and more meaningful with your scientific contributions and valuable participation, and we will be extremely happy to see you among us in Budapest between October 28-30, 2026.

Sincerely,

TULCAS 2026 Organizing Committee
